We Invite Papers for our Forthcoming Conference: ANTHROPOLOGICAL RESEARCH IMPERATIVES: 11-12 April 2008 The Conference Programme is now available.
a). from postgraduates and scholars resident in Ireland working on any anthropological subject and aspect of the discipline. The aim of the conference is to forge links and potential networks between postgraduates and scholars resident in Ireland working on anthropology with researchers based more widely through a range of different networks. In order to maximise discussion time, papers are restricted to 15 minutes and grouped in ethnographic and/or theoretical areas of similarity. Please send any queries to Dr. Chandana Mathur at Chandana.Mathur@nuim.ie For a copy of the Flier for the conference (Word Format), click Here.
The AAI normally runs two conferences a year, commonly a major conference and a one-day event. Our main 2007 Conference was held on 11-12 May in Dublin: The Globe in a Glass Case: Ethnographic Collections in Ireland Our main conference in 2006 was on the theme of St Patrick's Day across the world, with presentations from prominent anthropologists working in several different countries. We also hope to organise a one-day conference in Dublin on the theme of Minorities. Details of this event will be annnounced as they are finalised. We anticipate two publications from our past conferences. These include a book based on the conference Social Thought and the Irish Question in the Nineteenth Century, and a book on Ethnographic Collections in Ireland.
